KULLIYYAH OF ENGINEERING
Department of Mechanical Engineering
The Department of Mechanical Engineering aims to produce engineers who are academically competent and posses a sound and balanced Islamic personality ready to face the challenges of the 21st century.
The Department offers programmes in Aerospace and Automotive Engineering. Students registered for the programmes undergo a common first year with courses in Calculus, Computer Programming, Electrical and Electronics Technology, Drawing, Engineering mechanics, Workshop Technology and Islamic science.
From the second year, students in each of the two areas take courses suitable to their programme along with courses in Islamic studies and management. In the final year of their four year programme, students can opt for three elective courses to suit their areas of specialization.
Students in the Aerospace Engineering programme study, among other courses, Aerodynamics, Flight Mechanics, Aircraft Structures, Aircraft Design, Spacecraft Dynamics and Control, as well as a final year project. There are also a variety of specialist courses in Computational Fluid Dynamics, Automatic Flight Control Systems, and Flight Testing.

Undergraduate
ENTRY REQUIREMENT
General Admission Requirement for Malaysian Students
A Diploma in a related area with a CGPA of 3.0 or above, OR
A Pass with a CGPA of 3.00 or above in STPM
At least "B" Grade (NGMP 3.00) in physics and Mathematics/ Advanced Mathematics in STPM
A Credit in English Language/English 1119 at the
SPM level or equivalent, OR MUET Band 3
At least 4B in the following subjects at the SPM level or equivalent:- Mathematics/Additional Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry
A Credit in "Pendidikan Islam/Tasawwur Islam" at the SPM level or equivalent.
OR
A pass in the IIUM Centre for Foundation Studies’ final examination with a CGPA of 2.5 and fulfillment of all other requirements for promotion to the first year of the undergraduate degree programme; and
A credit in Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Malaysia or equivalent
A credit in "Pendidikan Islam"/"Tasawwur Islam"/"Pendidikan Al-Quran and As-Sunnah"/"Pendidikan Syariah Islamiah" at the SPM level or equivalent
OR
At least three (3) principal passes (including Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry) in the General Certificate of Education 'Advanced Level' (GCE) 'A' Level Examination (UK Educational System),
OR
International Baccalaureate (IB) with a minimum of six (6) subjects (including Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry), OR
Any other qualification that is recognized by the Senate of the University as equivalent to the above
